Electrical question ...

I'm not good with electrical, so pardon this simple question.

I am wanting to make my 12v accessory outlet in the back of my Trooper constant 12v to run a fridge. I ultimately plan to run 10-guage to a plug direct from my Blue Sea fuse block. In the meantime though, I want to do what I had done in my 4Runner and remove the relay and jump the connector at the fuse box to make it constant.

Not sure how though, here is a pic of the relay with the schematic. Would I just connect the two with the current flow and ignore the open side?

Thanks

Using your picture as a guide, you want to connect the two upper connections (the ones currently shown open). If the relay is labeled, you should connect (or 'short') pin 30 to pin 87. This may result in what you want, but if pin 30 (the power side) is switched to your ignition, it won't work.

Measure voltage at pin 30 (on your picture, the top left pin) with and without the key in the ignition. That will tell you if it is switched.

Good luck.

I agree you want to jumper the two upper connections (short probably isn't the best term to use). But I disagree with the numbers you are using. Isn't 30 the coil source terminal? I thought 86 and 87 are typically the numbers on the power side of the relay.
