Energy Efficient food prep: sous vide all in one method.

Something that I have done in the past is : on previous vehicles, not on our 2023 ZR2 Colorado yet, is use a 700 watt microwave to reheat previously cooked food, on inclement weather conditions days.

We got asked all the time, how do we prepare dinner so quickly when the weather is horrible. We precook & vacuum seal. Then just reheat in microwave.

We haven't set anything up yet in our current truck but things are happening and things are being contemplated. We had a 2000/4000 watt pure sine wave inverter and 2 gp 31 AGM batteries in previous vehicles. And battery charger.

Smart alternator and dealership is presenting some problems. But eventually we will do something.

Great ideas on food prep. We use SV to cook chicken breast and cuts of beef on sale. Typically a little bit of extra time to tenderize them. I do this at home in batches, sometimes with 8-10 bags. When we need a meal, we grab a single bag, and I will slice the meat thin and eat at room temp over a salad . Summertime in AZ is not the time to heat the house with elaborate cooking, and works on the road as well.

After researching electric kettles for hours, bought a 1.5L Cosori with double wall stainless. So that means no seams inside to leak, and insulated to hold heat. Love it, high quality, nothing to break. Just tested it, 93wh to boil 1 L water from 72f, exactly correct amount, 100% efficient. Used 6% of my 1536wh power station, from 82% to 76%. So far I am impressed with the Cosori, but especially the no seams solid interior so impossible to leak. Had water in it since 25th, no stains or rust.View attachment 813425
So , I just put the Cosori kettle in my Amazon cart. Please Tell us how you make coffee?
