Engel 43 or 34 QT ?

Purchased those before the tie downs just need to find some with double hook ends that are longer than the ones I purchased, as well as make some tabs for them to mount in like the engel setup.

Search "turnbuckles" at McMaster-Carr. Personally I'd go with the clevis type rather than those with hooks. If you need/want QD then replace the upper pins with "Quick Release Pins", also a MMC search .

Great ingenuity! I agree with moving to turn-buckles instead of the straps, but I think you did a great job.

By the way, what is that light bar inside the back for?

I will have to get the turnies when I get back from Tellico. The strobes are for work. My company does road work from traffic signs to installing miles upon miles of Safety Barrier system (guard rail). IN FL cross over accidents are responsible for to many fatalities.

Yeah you might have to make them, I did notice while at the hardware store the mirror hanger look very similar to the tabs used for the turn buckles.

So far so good on the tests. In ambient temps the unit's two displays are within 0.2 degrees. The wireless unit updates more slowly, possibly when the temp changes rather than a fixed time update from what I can tell. Probably to save the batteries. I am running it side-by-side with my Engel thermometer in the fridge and will post up later.
