Engel Fridges...cheap! (craigslist in CA)

He was great to deal with in person. Email was good, but in person was great! I'd be his friend fo sho

TERRIBLE customer service.

I've tried calling about 5 times to talk to John and he's never available and never calls me back. I finally had to call Engel directly for a warranty claim and then due to the confusion, I ended having to buy the piece I needed.

Sorry to be harsh, but stay away from this shop.

I know. John was great to talk to in person. Upon buying my fridge (with broken latch), he told me he had a latch coming already in the mail. I got him on the phone and he took my info down again to ship me the piece "when it comes in" which was a week later he had said it was already on its way. I never heard back, so I kept calling and calling to find out where it was with no response.

Naturally, I said screw it and went directly to the source - Engel. I told them I bought it and in order to save hassle, I just said that I broke it myself (even though I didn't, because I wanted to keep 110 speed shop out of trouble). So of course, since "I broke it" they had to charge me for the part.

Still never heard back from 110 Speed Shop and a small $9 later, I have a latch with tracking number on it's way to arrive this week. Long story short, Engel rules, 110 speed shop sucks.

Sorry to hear about the issues. Back in post #6 I did not have good vibes on the guy and I was happy to think that I may have been wrong. At least the latch is a cheap fix!

I know these posts are old but i was going to see if you have any engels in store still ? we are looking for the mt45f-u1. or any past versions that sell for cheaper!

It was a craigslist ad, but you could try contacting them although I would avoid it.

On a plus note, the used Engel works great and hasn't missed a beat.
