I know some of you remember me saying that these were on their way! We'll they're finally here! :wings: As a forum sponsor, I am pleased to announce that Sierra Expeditions now has Engel Posi-fits in stock!

I know what your thinking... Wil, what in the world is an Engel Posi-fits? Let me explain it to you. Basically it is a locking mechanism to lock your Engel's DC plug into the electrical source.

Here is the Engel Posi-fits itself:

I know, that still does not explain this... So now you take your existing DC cord and unscrew the cigar plug portion. (Note: there is two poertions on the plug that you can unscrew one being the fuse access and the other is the "plug" portion.) You unscrew just the fused portion, once unscrewed it will look like this:

So, now you can mate your existing DC cord with the Engel Posi-fits. Once connected you then screw your plug into the Engel Posi-fits, meaning that your DC cord will not rattle out of the plug!

Engel Posi-fits are $24.95 + Shipping (AZ sales tax applies to AZ residents)

Wil,

Quick question, is the barrel seciton detachable from the mounting plate?

looks like two screws holding it in

Correct, it is just two Phillips' head screws that attach the female section to the 90° mounting plate. So basically you could flush mount it to an existing interior panel if you don't mind seeing the two screws. (Or, you can just get really creative)

Indeed...I would be too lucky if the spacing was the same as my West Marine 12V outlet mounting plate.

I can measure it for you if you'd like... Just let me know.
I would appreciate that.

The screws are 1 3/8" apart from each other.

Any chance you plan on getting the Posi-Fit connection with the built in light and switch?

They were supposed to come with this shipment from OZ, but never made it... so now we play the waiting game.
