Back to swapping in the bigger diesels, They are extremely heavy so if you were to swap even the 4BT or 4D34 plan on doing an SAS. As for swapping the Montero diesel motors in it's not bad and you know it'll fit and carry the weight, the 4cyl diesel only weighs about as much as the V6. If you're into Gen 1's i know where you can get a nice 2 door diesel, already imported and legal in Los Angeles the guy has a 4x4 delica too.
I swapped a 2.3TD into my '88 and got it fully legal and smogged, but i live in Az.
