So I read that report you post the link to and I think it is typical magazine BS. Warn, who had the highest electrical use, most expensive AND broke during the stall test, wins first place? Come on! Personally any winch test that the winch breaks = failed. I would have put Engo and Superwinch in the top spots because they didn't break and when I am buying a winch, that is what I am looking for... one that works when pushed to extremes.

That's my .02 and I'll have to seriously consider the Engo when the time comes.

Warn is not the best out of the bunch if you just look at the tests (which they said the result is based on). Don't know why they put it first place. Must be the Warn followers or a few bucks changed hands.

XJ Mike I agree with your observation.. I have been working with Joel at Engo to really get this product moving. For the price you can not beat this product. After some deeper research it seems just about all winches are made or parts made in China. .. So Take that out of the equation and lets compare testing and results :)

I am new around here, but I actually own the Engo 10k winch and it has been great so far. I would recommend that you connect the two cables that attach to the terminal on the front of the winch before installing though. Maybe it was just because I have a Shrockworks bumper, but it was a major PITA to get those two connect once it was in place.

Just got off the phone with Engo..

Synthetic line will be available in 4-5 weeks as an upgrade or as an addition. Will let you all know when ready.

Didn't the warn break at 16K lbs? This tells me that the winch is good, just means that the clutches didn't do their job. The clutches should have started slipping before the motor went. mho

For the money, I really liket the winch. I have a champion brand I use for skidding logs, but I foresee an engo becoming a permanent part of my truck in the near future.

I just finally read that article. I gotta hand it to Engo, subjective tests aside, I'd put my $ on Engo. I'm not really concerned with noise, but flawless operation after stall and submersion are key factors IMNSHO not weighted enough in the final scoring.

i have an engo 12k on my 3/4 ton suburban and love it, have used it a number of times to recover my truck in different situations. The four wheeler magazine winch shootout was the final straw in me picking it and im glad i did. On another note i called the company to ask a question and mentioned that the solenoid box had a small crack in it when it arrived and he just said ok no problem ill send you another. A few days later i received a new solenoid box with all the wires in it, i didnt even call to complain but the fact that there were no questions asked and just sent me another is great customer service in my book. Also i called and an actual human answered the phone, it almost caught me off guard lol. So far great product.
