It has a certain appeal, but it reminds me of a little wooden cave w/o windows.
Depending on your vehicle and it's use it could be extremely practical though.

The Escape Pod model shown in the photos has high side walls
without windows. There are other models that have low walls,
designed to fit into a Sprinter passenger van with side windows.
So you can choose to look out, or not. The high side wall model
has more storage, of course.
