I’ve been browsing this forum for answers to my problem but I'm having a hard time to do so.
I own a Mercedes Benz G55 AMG 2006
Problem: Following warning lights has come on ESP, BAS, ABS, Electric Brake Booster, Brake wear. All saying 'visit workshop!, display faulty!.
Before it appeared:
No apparent problem with the car, drove a couple of miles in winter conditions, stood idle with engine on in the cold, sub-zero (Celsius), with heating on inside for the dog i the trunk.
After an hour or so, car still running, all warning lights were illuminated. I shut it off, disconnected the battery restarted, everything was still there. When I drove home, I also apparently see that the speedometer is out of business stating 0km/h.
Then the car stays put for a couple of days, the snow melts and warm winds. I start the car, all warning light has gone away. Even the speedometer is up and running.
Then a couple of starts later, all still gone except, 'Electric stabil. Prog. Visit Workshop! ESP.'
A week or two later all of the same messages popped up again. Wet weather, and ever now when all has dried up thing are the same, no speedometer and a bunch of warning messages, ESP, BAS, ABS, Electric Brake Booster, Brake wear. However, the car runs fine, all the fuses are ok, the brakes are ok, the lights work fine, however a diagnostic computer doesn't get connection with the ESP/ABS control unit.
Since the problem came, disappeared and came back, I would like to think that there is some problem with the wiring or connections to the ESP, ABS unit.
The only info I have found was:
"Mercedes-Benz G55 AMG Connector/wires for brake pressure switch may be damaged due to rattling/chafing
Due to the location of the ABS hydraulic unit on the inner fender, the connector (or wires) for the brake pressure switch can be damaged when the connector rattles or chafes against the inner fender. This problem will illuminate the ESP warning light"
Now if this is it I don't know? Do you have any ideas of what the problem might be? The control unit is expensive and I don't trust the repair shop (neither would you) want to keep the cost down.
Could it be the ACCELERATOR SENSOR?
