I think you are a bit out of touch with younger and less affluent buyers. The fever pitch over the $25k hybrid Maverick is one example. Of course the dealers leveraged that demand with ADM driving prices way up.

One model out of how many released in the past decade?

And the one model you found that sold is a truck, not a car, keep digging and list another model, unless big ford discontinues them for selling too well!!🤣🤣🤣🤣

Very good point. Example: New Ford Ranger regular cab, long bed (almost 7 ft), 4 cylinder, standard shift - NOT available in the US.
Yep, Ford sells a plug in Hybrid Ranger in Australia. Subaru has also been selling a hybrid Forester for a few years now in Europe. Who would want those here?

Small work vans have also disappeared. Ram Promaster City, Ford Transit Connect and the Nissan NV200 gone. Lots of trades people use these, my electrician has a half dozen of those Nissan vans I told him he better start hoarding them.

Americans don't care (or even know) what people buy in other countries.

The US has increasingly marketed more expensive vehicles that most of the middle class can't afford. Buyers of new vehicles tend to be wealthy. Poorer people buy used. This has lead to bigger vehicles than we would otherwise have, because wealthier buyers care less about economy, and favor luxury and size. Car manufacturers, infrastructure builders, and fuel producers like it this way.

Until you read posts like vagabonds and others just on this forum where Americans complain about the models sold overseas not being available here, that shoots your hypothesis in the foot now doesn't it.

Are you now going to turn this thread all political and blame the government because "poorer people" don't buy new? Go to a different forum for your political crap, it isn't wanted here.

Once manufacturers build an EV that meets my needs I'll buy one, but that's a long way off!

And like plainjane said, critcism is not hatred.
You don’t own an EV, you’ve probably never driven one, yet you always have something negative to say about them. I guess you’d call it constructive, but it often just sounds like regurgitated Facebook posts.

Don't own one because they dont fit my needs, rented a few and wasnt impressed, facebook isnt on my phone but is on yours.

Except my Expedition gets almost the same mileage as the Subaru Outback it replaced. I don’t think mileage is a big factor unless your talking to a Prius or Fusion Energi driver who typically get a solid 50-60mpg.

Prices however!! Hell yes definitely an issue. However!!! The 3spd Auto Suzuki that’s pretty much the national car of Costa Rica I had for two weeks would fail miserably in the US. But in Costa Rica it was actually a great rig.

I had a transit connect, bought it new thinking it would save a lot of money- it was almost unusable- too small, and got full-size van mpg once you loaded it up.

I own a hybrid and love it- so I’m not anti-EV. You’ve just been unable to come to grips with reality- it goes against your worldview.
