Ex- Sleeping Platform

I am starting this thread in response to the sleeping platform which I have since sold in the for sale section. Of course Baja Taco inspired!

The sleeping/storage platform was composed of two rear slide out drawers, two middle compartments, and one large forward hatch spanning the width of the bed. My friend owns a cabinetry shop and helped with the build, as well as tracking down the drawers and hardware.

The weight was minor. Probably around 40 lbs. The rear suspension I am running consists of a custom Deaver 10-leaf, as well as Bilstein 5100's. I have also added Demello frame reinforcments to add structural integrity to the frame. I sold my shell and platform because I have recently purchased a Flippac direct from FRP. I plan on building out the back again once I get my accessory arrangement figured out in the rear. I'll try and document things a little better when that happens.

nice.. did you have a cab high shell over it?

Yes, that was one of the major factors for making the switch. We used thick sleeping bags ontopa thick cut memory foam which = semi coffinish feel which my wife did not appreciate. Plus we both hated not being able to sit up.

Really nice build, and around 40 lbs. I thought it would weigh much more than that. What type of wood did you use?

Sorry just found this thread. Can I ask you where you put your cooler when you had this platform?

I have pictures of your set up. Not sure if it was from here or another website. That was a great build.

Where's the Flippac?
