I'd much sooner buy a proven rig (MOG, MANN, SCANIA, etc) that has both history and a more generic layout. Just my $0.02.
This truck probably didn't have great off-road ability, but doesn't get much proven than Oshkosh. You'd have to be pretty stupid or unlucky to break it, and worldwide parts support for CAT and Oshkosh isn't half- bad.
At $48k, you could buy it, rebuild it to your own specs and still have money left over compared to a lot of similar options.
but then you have figure out how to pay for fuel, and fuel, and more fuel.
