What an awesome rig Mick! I gotta hand it to you for a great build and I'm sure that living in it has dialed in the finer features. Love the freebord, though it works best off the wall :)
I'm just around the bend in Telluride and while I'm tempted to come check it out, I really don't need anything bigger than my tacoma at this stage in life. I did find myself searching for a few answers though and I think that posting these things might help you with the sale.

Could you put the size into perspective? Maybe some photos parked next to another vehicle, and measured dimensions?
How capable is it off road? Some photos on roads that we might be familiar with could help? Would you take it over any passes around here (Imogene, Ophir etc)?
Lots of great photos on your site, but if you can find a friend with a GoPro or other very wide angle lens, it would help with the appeal of the interior layout to see it all at once.

I've gotta think that with trip reports of proven performance you could find a buyer at this price. It's heartbreaking to get so much less than you hoped, but best of luck with the sale!

Can this truck run biodiesel (B100) without further mods?
Can you speak to the learning curve for someone coming from a small SUV or car? How well does it drive?
What are the maintenance requirements? Where do you go for mechanical help?
Do you need a special license to drive this?

Hey Fourstring, Thanks for the great ideas - I'll definitely be thinking about this when I'm out and about. Good eye on the Freeboard too, I'm surprised someone spotted that!

Tour, B100 works very well in this machine. The truck doesn't require a special license and is fairly easy to get used to, but I must say, my wife won't drive it - it's a little much for her. I rely on the factory service manual for repairs and maintenance, but haven't had to do any major component changes - primarily fluid and belt changes. Most mechanics should have a good idea about how to work on these simple machines.

Next time I load up and head out on a trip I'll be sure to shoot some current photos and post them up - In the meanwhile, keep the questions coming!

you mentioned the license part. can anyone with a 'normal'(i think below 5000kg weight?) car license drive it?

A normal license is required to drive this truck. The truck is 17,900 GVWR and a special Commercial Drivers License is required at 26,000 GVWR. Let me know if you have further questions. Lowering the price again!

Thanks,
Mick

Trades anyone?

Okay, I'm opening up to trades. I'm needing a vehicle that seats 4. I love interesting vehicles, ofcourse, but am open to just about anything. Let me know if MoonBug interests you and if you have anything you'd like to trade.

Thanks!
Mick

bump...

wow you know what. I never post anything on this forum. I've just been a consumer of info for years... but after reading what you did and seeing the pictures you posted, this rig is spot on. What a steal this price is. I'll have to live vicariously through the new owner since I wouldnt even fit that in my driveway. Good luck to you

Thanks Marley, I'm glad you felt comfortable enough to start posting. I've noticed that its a really great crew here at expedition portal and I've certainly learned a lot too. Thanks for the compliments on the rig. I think it's great but it will definitely take the right person/family.

I'm hoping to get some good perspective shots going so you can see the true size of the truck/camper combo. It fits in a standard parking spot in downtown Durango, which is pretty small compared to the huge lots of California for example. I may have to wait until the snow melts a little so that I can mount the camper up - I've been driving the truck around as my daily driver lately.

Thanks again,
Mick

Interior photos

I've finally been able to upload more interior photos showing the rear work area, storage, and bed platform. I also took measurements and the total length is 20'4" and width is just under 8ft.

The floorspace of the living area is 12'6"X 7'6"

The updated photos can be seen here: www.photobucket.com/bigfuso

Cheers!
Mick
