I also did not know this thread existed ....

These are our modest numbers

1. Year, model, color, etc: 1984, BJ45LV with the bulletproof 3B diesel engine, the color has changed over the years and we like to call it Dune Beige, but not sure this is original in any way.
2. Name of owner/screen name: landcruising
3. How long have you owned your 40 series? Is this your first? 17 years and yes this is our first... for now....
4. Mileage at date of purchase and present mileage: roughly 178.000 kms when we bought it and now roughly 460.000 kms. With the offset of the slightly larger tires the odometer is off and should read at least 10% more I think.
5. Your favorite mods... If any: The previous owner made a 25cm roof extension which is a blessing to make the Land Cruiser a liveable space, but also a curse as it is not a stock solution and we learned over the years that mods in general are the first things to fail. And in this case, it looks like an engineering conflict that doesn't allow the body to flex enough.
6. How your 40 is used... ie. DD, family adventure, overland travel, etc.: All of the above. We have used this truck everyday since 2003 for our overland adventure travel.
7. 'Final thoughts, good or bad, pros or cons, about owning and driving a 40 series: We think it's great to be driving one of these icons. It allows us to travel slow and connect with the locals as we need to find local solutions to fix little things on the road. Also it can be fixed almost everywhere with simple tools. The rust though, is something we cannot appreciate.

1. Year, model, color, etc: 1973 FJ40 in Forest Green-Rhino Line inside and out (prior to purchase)
2. Name of owner/screen name: Mike Glover, Fieldcraft Survival
3. How long have you owned your 40 series? Is this your first? I have owned several FJ80s, used newer models overseas-fire FJ40.
4. Mileage at date of purchase and present mileage: ODO, inaccurate on 350 Swap
5. Your favorite mods... If any: Has a 350 Swap, not the biggest fan but it does provide plenty of power mated to the 3 speed. Favorite mod thus far is the original 74ish, 2nd gen Warn Winch that still works, and the fact the vehicle has always been in AZ and is Rust and damage free.
6. How your 40 is used... ie. DD, family adventure, overland travel, etc.: Its going to be used for family outings and overland trips around North America.
7. 'Final thoughts, good or bad, pros or cons, about owning and driving a 40 series. I am not a fan of the 350 Swap, I am a purist in many ways. I think I might source a rebuilt or low mileage 2F to swap back in.

1. 1974, FJ40, red

3. Purchased from my father-in-law about 7 years ago, he bought it in about 1992
4. 36K(ish) and now 40500(ish)
5. Installed an ARB dual air compressor and swapped out the old and tired 350SBC with a 383SBC with MSD EFI
6. Weekend driving and 4x4ing
7. Smells like a 50 year old car when driving.

1. Year, model, color, etc: 1966 FJ40. Originally Toyota beige.Was painted with custom mixed straight yellow toner. Multi-colored now.
2. Name of owner/screen name: Brad/LiveWire64
3. How long have you owned your 40 series? Is this your first? 29 years. This is my 2nd FJ40.
4. Mileage at date of purchase and present mileage: No idea,but has had 3 different v8 engines in it.
5. Your favorite mods... If any: All of them but love the v8 auto trans & my custom onboard air system.
6. How your 40 is used... ie. DD, family adventure, overland travel, etc.:Was my DD for 5 years. Also drove it all over Calif & Nevada to the trails we wheeled. Used for camping. Love rock crawling.
7. 'Final thoughts, good or bad, pros or cons, about owning and driving a 40 series. Nothing bad to say about it. Love my LC. Best 4x4 there is in my opinion.

3. How long have you owned your 40 series? Is this your first? 9 years, First.
4. Mileage at date of purchase and present mileage: TMU, had 17k on the broken odo.
5. Your favorite mods... 5.3 LM7, NV4500 5spd, A/C, 96" WB.
6. How your 40 is used...Fire/forest service roads, Soon to tow RTT trailer.
7. 'Final thoughts, good or bad, pros or cons, about owning and driving a 40 series. Just need to remember it's a 50 year-old vehicle.

3. This was my first LC, bought in 1999, driven for a few years, then I started to work on it and life got in the way for the next 15 years.
4. Mileage at date of purchase and present mileage: 67k current, probably 167k.
5. Your favorite mods... If any: NA
6. How your 40 is used... ie. DD, family adventure, overland travel, etc.: once i get it back up and running I hope to use it for family adventures
