HI guys, new to this site. I have a friend that has a 1991 fj80 and is looking to raise it up about 3in on a majorly tight budget. Got that new wife and kids thing going on and is totally new to this off road fun. We have looked into Spectrum Off-road but out of his budget so we are looking into a coil spring swap or something to achieve that 3in lift. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks

Mine is a 1996 HZJ 80, US spec, which I purchased January 2015 with 178,500 miles on it, and not an ounce of maintenance done since new. Bad transfer case and the front axle was completely shot.



I've spent the last year baselining it as I can afford. Plus, I moved from the US to Germany for work, and brought it along, for adventures.

I currently have 192,000 on it. I drive it daily, plus take it on weekend trips, as well as off road outings with the local club, on Europe's premier military training center at Hohenfels, Germany.

40,000 acres of off road heaven.

My wife and I are currently using our rig, named "Marjan", to stage our efforts to walk the Main Donau Trail across Germany.
