5. Your favorite mods... If any: hard to pick just one - for offroad Toyo MT, for long travel Recaro seats, for fun - turbocharger, ARB lockers and 2" lift are also great.

I know this thread exists on one of our other favorite sites, but the 80 series that are generally on this site are more in tune to the overland/expedition flavor that we all love. Like most, I never get tired of looking at pics of 80 series, so why not have them all in one thread. Your pictures and post will help to inspire others and act as a quick reference to your build. As a minimum guideline for our posts, let's include:

We had the car for 25 years as a family car. 3 years ago we started a diesel conversion (1HDFT/H151) and removed the rear two rows and built an expedition rig. I wrote a blog on Overland Bound and will write short one in this forum. Also @big_reg_adventures.

Cabinets are all metal construction from 1/2" square steel tube and sheet metal/aluminum. They bolt into the support for the rear two rows of seats.

Owned since 1998. We have 3 40 series (2 of which diesel) and one 60 series (diesel)

4. Mileage at date of purchase and present mileage:
60K and 300K. Put 45K miles in two years after the conversion including a trip from CA to AK.

5. Your favorite mods... If any:
*Diesel conversion (Toyota 24 valve turbo diesel and 5 speed)
*Full camper in the back.
*built in fridge
*18 gallons under the car. 9 heated with heat exchange and 9 cold.
* built in sink and shower
* roll out bed inside the cab (set up time 2 minutes)
* built in kitchen (set up time 30 seconds)

Hey all! Been really active on Mud but never really been over here much. Looking foward to getting more involved over here and learning more!

3. How long have you owned your 80 series? I bought it 7 years ago as it was my first car

4. Mileage at date of purchase and present mileage: 190,000 when I first got it, now it has 285,000

5. Your favorite mods... If any: Supercharger, Stereo with standalone amp, Dobinson Variable Rate coils

6. How your 80 is used... ie. DD, family adventure, overland travel, etc.: Use to be my daily driver, now its more of an adventure rig. Interior build and heading to Alaska on the books for next summer

I realized after many years I never did this, have been mostly on Mud the last 15 years.
Year, model, color, etc: 1997 FZJ80 White Collectors Edition. Its a bit of a white Rhino, it's Factory locked, no port installed roof rack, fake wood trim, or rear wing, but had the gold package✨.

3. How long have you owned your 80 series? 15 years. Is this your first? Yes but had a built FJ40 prior to starting a family.
4. Mileage at date of purchase and present mileage: bought with 103k now at 140K, it is a dedicated trail rig I bought from a soccer mom who was the original owner.
5. Your favorite mods... If any: Armor, dual batteries, fridge, rack HAM, etc.
6. How your 80 is used... ie. DD, family adventure, overland travel, etc.: Family adventure-overlanding- reaching off the beaten path camp spots. And used to practice my mechanic skills on a monthly basis and parts have aged.
