SOLD

Conqueror Base Camp for sale by owner as a turn key* transaction.

Illness is forcing sale (but not mental illness to cause me to give it away)

This unit is registered in Texas as a 2009 model, purchased new this past winter. An ongoing back problem has caused me to reevaluate the camping situation; honestly I wish it didn't have to come to this.

[* I am including all "standard equipment" as well as the camping products I currently have in the trailer. So things like ground covers, grille, stove, propane bottles, sleeping bags, camp chairs, 2 cots, air mattress, external 10lb propane tanks, spare Hella plugs, and frankly a lot of other stuff I am not recalling at the moment are included.]

Here are the standard features of the Conqueror Base Camp:

Roof Rack Tent
Heavy-duty canvas tent with 4 side openings with dual zippers, windows and bug screens on 4 sides. 8 x 8 x 6.5 foot high.
Side Tent
Add-a-room side tent fitted underneath open roof rack, approximately 6 x 8 foot floor area. Heavy-duty canvas.
Foam Insulated Saddle boxes

Two holders for mounting Jerry Cans on side of trailer.

Metal, 2.5 x 6 feet, and mounting for under roof rack
Nose Wheel
Anti tilt leg and removable Jockey wheel, struts to assist in opening and closing lid. Wheel arch rubbers.

Other additions: The wiring harness has been upgraded to a standard round 7-way U.S. vehicle plug in. I have upgraded the safety chains, replaced #4 with #8 rated bolts, repacked bearings, and added safety chains to the two water caps (was worried I'd forget where I put one down; this way they are always connected to one another), and a safety chain to hold up the nose wheel when in transport mode.

It has been used locally and once for a extended trip to the North Carolina seashore. Always garaged and entire unit (box, canvas, etc.) are in excellent condition. This is an all-inclusive sale, I will not be selling individual components. Located in a suburb of Fort Worth, Texas

First offering made to the fine members of Expeditional Portal Forum

With the Edgestar 63q freezer - $7,500.00
Without the freezer - $7,000.00

Happy to report a fine chap from STL came through on the purchase. . .

Good deal for him and me, although I had to agree to become a rugby fan!

(it 'twas an odd way to make a business agreement - Merv drove down from MO and I sat up in bed. Go figure.)

Anyway, from the discussion we had, I think the base camp is going to get to visit many fine and interesting locations. I hope all of them are achieved under clear skies. . . .

Thanks Brad, appreciate the thought. It appears to be something that time and a small surgical instrument will heal from the many I've spoke to who have had similar conditions. It's just going to be a lousy way to spend the summer this year.

Could be worse I suppose. A secretary of the office just had to bury her 22 year old son. Found him deceased in the neighbors front yard a couple of evenings ago and they haven't been able to determine the cause of death (actually the cause was blunt trauma to the front of his head; they don't know the reason why it happened or why he was next door. ) Typical good kid, no enemies, no prblems with the law, etc. Its definately more painful hearing about her and her families loss than it has been dealing with my lower back / spine.

The trailer has definitely gone to a good home. I'm hoping to help Merv get that nice trailer dirty soon ;)

Ouch! I have 21 year old son and I can't imagine the impact of losing him like that. h:Wow1:

"Thanks for the trailer Gary "

I am genuinely happy to know that it is in good hands. You guys are going to love it and I suspect from what you hinted at, there are going to be some novel "adjustments" made to it along the way. Please be sure to share with all what modifications happen to be achieved. As I said on a different thread, I have enjoyed reading / living vicariously through the adventures of others on this forum and yours will be no different. Especially because of the fondness I have for this base camp in particular.

Cheers!

I think we will do a few trips first to see what we think works and what needs improvement.

This weekend however, the RV is the trailer of choice. The wife is however going to work on her camp oven bread using the Weber. :chef: :Wow1:
