F150 Custom Drawer/Platform build!

Started a new platform build for my 1997 F150. It will have 2 drawers, (1) will be 4ft & (1) will be 6ft with full extension ball bearing sliders "homemade sliders". Also I plan on have a full platform side to side, that is fully carpeted. I got the idea for the sliders from a few other members on this board, so THANKS is in order to them!!!
Here is the progress so far.

So I got a little further today. Got the top piece carpeted and the sides storage spots framed out. Next will be the 3 tops for the side storage.

Total cost is about $160.
But I picked up all the 1" tubing used on Craigslist for $20, had I not found it used on Craigslist it would of been about an extra $40 for the tubing. Another way I saved money is, I bought a $51 piece of 4ftx8ft 3/4" birch plywood from Lowes and had them rip it to the sizes for the drawers and sides for the platform itself. One sheet was enough for both drawers and all the sides for the platform. Buying it in 1"x6" & 1"x8" pre cut pieces it would of almost doubled the $51 I spent.

I'm building mine right now. I am also using roller bearings and a 1x1 tube for the drawer slides.
Have you found this style drawer system to be stable at 5 - 6 feet?

I love this design, this is pretty similar to what I plan on doing with my tacoma. Your work looks nice and clean!

I'm a little hesitant to have lowes or Home Depot rip my boards for me because I've had them do it in the past and the work wasn't as exact as I would have wanted it, wasn't a big deal for the project I was doing at the time but it would be a huge problem for this.

As long as you space the bearings close together at the end it will be more than stable! Mine extended all the way can handle some serious weight!!!

I go to my local Lowe"s a lot, and have got to know the workers quite well. So I have learned to be super nice to the guys working the saw, and if you do that they typically will go out of there way to make sure the cuts are correct!
