This is a beaver dam on the West Fork of the Carson River, in Hope Valley, Alpine County, California. Within a couple of months the river will freeze over and disappear under several feet of snow. Lake Tahoe is just the other side of these mountains.

Fall at our Cabin, it started blowing and snowing. All the leaves were gone by the time the camera came out
