families on the road...Homeschooling?

We have been on the road full time for over a year but we started home schooling our now 11yr old after 2nd grade. We use a combination of online and work books. Our online program is time4learning and we buy various work books during visit's to Barns and Nobles. We REALLY struggled with getting him to read but in the last year he finally got interested in the Diary of a Wimpy kid series and had taken off.
While we try to do some "traditional" learning with the online and work books the majority of what we do is experiential. It works for us and our lifestyle.
A bit more about us. We are a family of 4, myself, Wife, 11yr old and 2yr old boy's. My wife works remote with her own company and I home school our 11yr old and keep the 2yr old away while she makes us money
We have spent the last 11 years living in Colorado in the summer and renting out our house in the winter. During that time we would go to Costa Rica for a month or more then live in our 27' travel trailer in So Cal the rest of the time. We have now sold our house (about 3 months ago) and made the jump to full time travel.
Have a look at the "World Schoolers" group on Facebook for some good info.
Do you plan to mainly be in the USA or travel internationally?

Nice, good luck. This past summer we made our first trip up to Canada. We drove up the entire US West Coast and crossed into BC. Hung out and did some great MTBing in Whistler then headed East stoping in Rossland and Fernie before dropping back down into Montana. Spectacular Country up there!
Good luck with your plans. Lot's of resources out there but taking the "leap" in the hardest part.

The World Off Road
There is also an interesting project of a Greek couple. They did a 3,5 years RTW trip (2007-2010). Then they had a baby who is now 5 years old. Now, they are about to start another RTW and homeschooling will be part of their daily routine. They also have an interesting survey about homeschooling & long time family travelling.
