Family Tent on a Horizon

We just finished putting together a Horizon with one of the 2200 Eezi Awn Family tents on it. It took a little more work than mounting a regular RTT due to the 86" width of the 2200.

We had to build an aluminum structure under the tent to support the base and the overhang. His and Hers ladders? Adult and Kids ladders? Humans and dogs ladders? All we know for sure are there are two ladders to this tent, we will leave it up to you how you use them.

Mario was showing me that at the shop the other day. Thing is Massive on a AT! Would be nice for Yosh and i since we have the dog up there. We don't usually have much room to spare.. maybe enough for my maglite and thats it. lol

Great Martyn!

Is the over hang in the front or is it spaced out evenly?

Love some more shots!

This is too cool!

On my trailer.......It over hangs 14" or 7" on both sides.......I would kill my self if i backed it into something.....I'm going with a 1800 to be safe.....

Nice for the the traveling families!

I wish some one would make a shorter version of the telescopic ladder for our RTTs. Am I the only one that's tired of taking extra precaution when climbing down the ladder to make sure I don't catch one of the rungs that are in between the full step rungs due to the way all of the existing RTT ladders are designed?

We mounted the tent so that it hangs more over the front than the rear of the trailer. The tent is 86" long on a 54" long trailer body. It is hanging 20" off of the front over the water tank and 12" off of the rear. The owner of this trailer is 6'7" and will be camping with his wife and 2 children.

For the EA ladders we have been able to line up the rungs. We do this by lining them up before mounting the ladder and then figuring out where to cut them at the top while maintaining the ideal 15 degree angle based upon level ground. Any adjustment holes drilled near that first hole locking hole an inch above or below to accommodate uneven ground does not put the ladder rungs off enough to pose a problem to finding your footing.

Cool tip! You guys have done it all! Thanks for always sharing your expertise.

This should be very appealing to the indecisive, oft-reproducing, 2200 owning pskhaat...:punk03:

I thought about doing that to the telescoping ladder shown...but they're darn expensive (~$200 +/-) to cut in half or 1/3.
