Hello,
I am swapping a 4D34-3AT3B into my 1994 Land-Cruiser, sourced from a 2000 Mitsubishi FE-SP, which is the same as an FE439. I purchased the factory wiring book and although it has wiring diagrams for the engine and transmission controllers, many of the body systems are absent from the book (lights, etc). As I am currently removing all non-essential wiring from the harness I would love to know what the wires I am removing do (as opposed to having to figure out which ones do nothing). I have not yet been into the dealer to see about buying the whole book, is there an online service portal that charges a membership, or some other source? I tried Alldata and they only had minor component diagrams, not an entire functional wiring diagram. Any ideas would be appreciated(or if anyone has a copy of one to share).
I was having some good success removing some of the wires that are obviously lighting related but I have gotten to the point where most of what is left appears to be required for engine functioning and I want to double check my logic. Lots of wires!
Also, does anyone know if the Zexel pump that is used on this engine (fully electrical, fly by wire pedal etc.) will run with no electrical bits connected? I wanted to test run the engine and will do so with the wiring connected, but if it will run with the wiring disconnected, then it's not really worth the trouble. It has a cable actuated shutoff, so I figured that maybe it was designed to run at idle with nothing hooked up.
Cheers
