The 'hilarious' part of the whole deal is that while doing the test drive (new owner driving) the Tundra decided to have the belt tensioner seize and throw the belt!!

So... getting a new one was 4 days out (this was Saturday - wouldn't arrive until Tuesday) and so it looked like we were kinda screwed and would have to wait.

But no, there's more!!

My Dad has a Sequioa (also a 2010) with the 5.7! He suggested we take the tensioner off his, and use it on the Tundra to get the new owner down the road to meet their deadline of being home. I had the Tundra towed to my place from the side of the road by the airport and then set about swapping the belt tensioners.

3 hours later (tops! it's an easy job) and all was done - the Tundra was good to go and we would replace the Sequioa parts when convenient.

New owner did a second test drive and took it home! I was always up front with the truck and it's (minor) issues so this one caught me by surprise! It didn't even howl to tell me it was going to fail! What's done is done and fortunately the new owner was understanding. It's gone to a good home and I'm hoping to see it occasionally out and about!
