I'm finding that I have little time to enjoy the G55 as intended and built....
Quick history - this is my second G, after 16 Landcruisers of all flavors..... the first G was a 13' G63 - amazing motor, but limited in offroad capabilities due to all the intercoolers etc... Sadly, it was totalled out in a rear-end accident, but saved my wife's life in the process.
So we looked for the cleanest G55 we could find.... rust is an issue as most G enthusiasts know.... we looked over at least a dozen before landing on one in Texas that was super clean, ran great and was the color we wanted....
As it turns out - the motor ran really well, but the tranny had issues..... we took it over to Eurocharged in Austin to let Dave and Adam work their magic base-lining it.... they quickly advised the tranny needed a rebuild and suggested Southern Hotrod (https://southernhotrod.com/war-viking-max-722-6-mercedes-benz/) , as they could build it up to handle some extra power - and while in there they'd baseline the whole motor, rebuilt the Sc'er and replace almost all hoses, belts and accessories - new starter, alt, power steering pump, brake booster and master etc...
2 months later and a large check, they had her running like a top ( 94k -ish miles on her then) and put their ECU /TCU tunes on as well... I had a pile of parts from Jackwagon, Eurowise and rims/ tires waiting and the build began.... and dropped it off at Eurowise in Charlotte to have them install some items and fine-tune the lift....
Current setup:
Currently at 122K - running perfectly, recently serviced with Stealership for AC recharge, fluids and fresh battery - and ready to go anywhere.... located in Norfolk, VA area......
happy to send specific pics or chat about it..... asking $ 72k - she will come with some spare parts, expo stuff - and hoping to finish off the Fridge slide mount on the waterjet this next week finally !
