I know that it isn't your typical "adventure'' however, it was more of an adventure than I have ever been on, and probably the only 7 month "camping trip" I will ever do in my life.

Jon, your statement above more than qualifies your stint in Afghanistan as postable content. It doesn't matter if you don't have your truck/moto staged in front of exotic landmarks, whether or not you are wearing/using the trickest commercially available products or that your camp is arranged for functionality, security and defendability and not photographic appeal. The most important thing is the adventure and discovery. Lot's of us on the forum have been to Afghanistan. My own experience was limited to Kandahar and Baghram but I found the nation terribly interesting and would love to learn more. Please give us a glimpse of your experiences.

Having never done the "Afghanistanimation," I would love to see your pics (Two 12+ month long tours in Iraq with the US Army... No weekend jaunts like Marine deployments:elkgrin! I drove theater support convoys and it gave me a great opportunity to see a lot of historically great stuff in Iraq. Just as AFSOC elaborated to, there's a lot in these countries that is of interest to the folks on here... It's not all bullets and bombs!

I want to say thank you like everyone else for you service. I also want to say thank you to your wife for supporting you through your time, I think she has the hardest job of all. I would love to see your pics and hear the stories, I can only imagine how incredible an adventure it was to be over there. Maybe someday the rest of us will be able to go there under better conditions thanks to men and women like you.
