FG fuel consumption

Hi guys,
just wondering what sort of average fuel consumption is being had from the FG trucks.
cant remember but dont think there is a thread on this... thought it might be interesting to see what everyones experiences are. probly be handy to add a rough vehicle weight/any major contributing factors.
i used to get 5.8km/L from the 3.9L 649 i had before. (bout 4T, 39" tyres)
now getting between 5-5.6km/L from the newer 4.9L FG84. (bout 4.4T, up till now 36" tyres)
Andrew.

I get around the 16L/100km running as a shopping cart when the missus uses it. When we are loaded, like on our trip to the Cape and running off road at times goes up to 20L/100.
This is with our FG 637.

2005 FG649 on ATW supplied 285x19.5 singles around 4.5Mt - average 16.6 l/100km over 91,000km, 145 fills, humpty dozen countries, almost 3 years. Odometer calibrated against Garmin and iGo gps over long distances.

Average speed usually well below 80 km/hr. Max speed rarely 100 km/hr, mostly 80 km/hr. Best consumption in Norway, (long distances, constant low speed, good roads). Worst consumption in Turkey (high temperatures, high speeds, tall mountains).

Biggest impact on consumption is speed. Slow over smooth roads better than slow over rough tracks. Consistent speed better than widely varying. The speed vs consumption is best estimates from selected data.

Histogram is just the same data as the run chart. The mean looks low because its total litres and total km not just the average of l/100km. Some of the variation is measurement error - difficult to always fill tank to same level.

A couple of fills in China where hard to find fuel leak meant increasing consumption until fixed.

Just returned from our first road trip of any real length. didn't take too much notice of consumption on the away trip but kept on eye on things on the return trip.
2004 FG649 3.9L T/I dualcab running 285/75/19.5 singles
1st tank, Tin Can Bay to Caloundra to Gympie, towing boat for 75klms, bit of highway at 100klms/hr, bit of surburban driving check out the sites (inc Australia Zoo) and back up the h/way to Gympie to pick up the boat again. 402klms for 82.38L = 4.88klms/L
or 20.5L/100klms.
2nd tank, Gympie to Mt Larcom, all h/way, at the speed limit where possible, running AC, and with cruise control set at 100, towing boat, 404klms for 86.08L = 4.7klms/L or 21.28L/100klms
3rd tank, Mt Larcom to Mackay, again all h/way towing boat, 409klms for 90L = 4.55klms/L or 21.98L/100klms.
overall 1215klms for 258.46L = 4.74klms/L or 21.1L/100klms
Not overly flash but I was towing a 4.35metre tinny being used as a trailer, loaded up with the kids bikes etc. and running at 100kms/hr where possible.
I usually work on 5klms/L being the average usage.

just did similar drive. Brisbane to Cairns in fg84 crew cab, standard everything, empty steel tray. Sat mostly on 95km/h... consistently used 16.5 to 17ltrs/100km...

I get about 10 mpg running 62 on the highway. Offroad I actually get quite a bit better since having the aerodynamics of a barn door hurts you more at speed.
