The next creek to cross was Cockatoo Creek which i thought to be a bit harder than Gunshot. The entery was pretty tricky as it was tight to get around with the trailer.

We found out after we walked the creek and stood in the creek there use to be a 3m Croc living there which was caught only 50m away from the crossing.

As the day got on we decided not to go into Fruit Bat Falls and leave it for the return trip.

This was Unnamed Creek which deep enough but no problems.

Ben in Sam Creek.

A couple of the bikies went up to see Mistake Creek to see if we could get the canter thru it they said should be able to but they didn't think we would fit around at Cannibal Creek and they said the truck might have been too wide for the Cypress Creek log bridge so we ended up doing a detour on to the Northern Bypass Road. A few of the bikes came with us while the others went to see the old Jardine River crossing.
Got to the Jardine Ferry the nice girl and guy there only charged us $153.00 return with the trailer which was abot $30.00 less than i worked it out to be.

Cannibal Creek was a tight fit for us and I'm a short wheel base.
We were able to get across Cypress Creek log bridge with the Canter last year but it certainly takes some negotiating. We will take a look when we get there in a few weeks time and see how we go again
Good to see you did the trip and enjoyed yourself.

Dan we where at about 10.5m long with the trailer so we would have no hope.
We had a great trip thanks , next time it will be a much slower trip.
And that was us who waved to you at the road works near Raglan, well we where pretty sure it was you.

How did the parobolics and srw handle the corrugations

That is a hard question to answer cos the bloody corrugations at Cape York are unreal you think they will be rough and they are smooth, you think they will be smooth and they shake the s..t out of you and the truck. On the Tele track they where pretty bad cos we couldn't get much speed up because the track is very narrow in places.
We did lose 3 cans of rum ,2 cans of coke and cracked 2 of the 24 eggs we had ,but one bonus the eggs came out per scrambled lol lol.
I did drop the tyre pressure down to 55psi front and rear which helped a bit.
We have done a trip out western Qld pre parabolics and the truck was a rougher ride compared to now.

What weight do you recon your truck weighed. How many leaves do you run front and back

about 4400kgs without trailer and the trailer was approx 1000kgs depending on how much fuel was in it for the bikes.
3 on the front set and 5 on the rear. We can add to the front if we thought it was too soft.

That would have been a really tight squeeze through there probably even without the trailer.
It was me, didn't notice you till too late. That's home turf to me, just live down the road a little way.

How's the ride with no gear on ?

We got the springs fitted and have only done about 200ks which was the drive home from ATW before we put all the camping gear in it and fitted water tank etc. all the stuff will stay in the truck .

It was smoother ride and less jarring on the drive home as compared to the drive up.
Kel noticed a big difference in the ride which was great to hear.

If you are in the area come take it for a drive sumtime if you want to.
