Figuring axle width

I have a small trailer box thats 50x72x13 thats pretty light,i need to order a 3500 lb axle for it.My tow vehicle is a 3rd gen 4runner with a rear axle that is approximately 63.75 hub face to hub face and 52 inside tire to inside tire.I plan to run the same tire and wheel. If i need 2 inches on each side for tire to trailer clearance i would need to add 2 more inches to equal 54 inches.Thats 4 inches wider than the trailer body.So 63.75 plus 2=65.75 rounded to 66 inch axle.
Springs would be at 48 inches
Hopefully thats right

If you add 2" per side or 4 total inches 67.75". The spring position really is irrelevant as you weld in the spring perches anyway. The overall size of the tire and back spacing of the tire also plays a roll. Are you using toy rims then look for wheel studs that work with it or use spacers.

I'd draw it out first with the trailer frame size face to face with the 2" on each end which causes you to be the appropriate size of the axle taking into consideration for the rim backspacing, spacers if needed, and width of tire really helps if you know the tire size before ordering. I did this done back in April thinking the supplier knew more than I did well it was a mistake by both of us for not catching it. If it is a local supplier, don't weld the spring perches until you know for sure it's right then weld after. If you were closer I'd give you the one I have that you need for free.

The trailer tub is 50 wide, the 4 runner is 52 wide on the inside of the tire so if i add a inch to each side it would total 54,which is 4 inches wider than the trailer to give me the 2 inch per side clearance.
I do run 1.5 inch spacers and those are figured in.
What wheel studs do i need for toyota wheels,i know most axles come with studs that are not compatible or just go with spydertrax spacers and subtract 2.5 inches.

Ok I just got home from work. I have to go back tomorrow and when I do, I'll try and help you figure it out. I hardly got any sleep in the 36 hr shift I had.
