I have the double Big Sky in the headliner of my Land a cruiser. Keep an AR and my Benelli.

Problem is, with the 4" lift, it's a little more visible than I would like.

Otherwise, I keep my sidearm always at my 4'oclock. Handgun is there to get me to my rifle if needed.

I carry a Sig Sauer p226 in 9mm with me basically anywhere I go. It's better to have it with you and never need it, than to need it and not have it.

I use a soft case most times, although I REALLY want a pelican case. I CC all the time and can anywhere I go (sign or no sign)...legally.

Nice to be a special privileged/class individual is it not in a nation that is hopelessly enslaved and believing the lie that they are free.

I think everyone should be allowed to do that. But politicians got a lot of endorsement from LEO by passing that. While we may not be perfect we're a hell of a lot better than most

IMHO, by enacting such legislation creating a special class of citizens not sheltered in the constitution its an act of insurrection when others joined in it became treason.

In the above situation insurrection takes hold when public funds are used to deny the power of the constitution; case law backs that up.

I think we should have gone a different route with the way that law was written, and made it legal for everyone to be armed Everywhere. The nanny state that's in creation only takes us back to where we were before we Declared our Independence. Unfortunately everywhere you look Firearms are vilified and treated as a special privilege for a certain class of people. Especially in schools where they have ridiculous zero tolerance laws. Kids getting expelled for Lego guns, and even ROTC Cadets getting expelled for fake Practice rifles. That's a much bigger problem than LEO's being given the Rights that we should all share. They are the ones that'll be voting the rest of our Rights away because guns kill people, just like base ball bats commit spousal abuse.

Well admittedly we are on the same page, back in the day there were rifle/pistol teams in school we did have fights usually over girls and never ever did a gun enter the equation.

I went through the thread on organized storage and all the really nice platforms built and I didn't see any designated gun storage areas. While in gun friendly states I can have the 9mm pretty handy and probably store the AR-15 somewhat. But in those not so friendly that you may need to go through, what do you do?

How often do vehicles get strip searched if you don't look like a drug dealer? Would you have a special vault under a deck or platform that was screwed down or in something that appeared to be something else? I'm not wanted yet nor have I had any problems before.

I have not tried to keep up with local gun restrictions, I'm aware of NY City, I won't go there, but even here in Mo (open carry) seems like some local LEOs have thier own rules if they want to mess with someone. I'm not going 500 miles out of my way just because I have a weapon on board!

It's always good to keep up with handgun laws if you intend to carry one loaded on your person. It's also good to study some concealed weapons permit reciprocity between states. I believe the Utah license is the most widely recognized between states. Here in WA state Cabelas offers a class that will allow you to get a couple different concealed permits for multiple states in one day. This allows you to carry in a huge majority of states concealed.

When it comes to loaded rifles in a vehicle, I usually don't mess with it. Keep the rifle unloaded in one spot, and maybe keep a loaded mag stashed away somewhere else... unless you're out exploring where it doesn't really matter.

The chances of your vehicle getting strip searched if you're respectful and don't look like a drug dealer is pretty low... But it can still happen. I have tons of visible tattoos and have been stopped before for random crap with a loaded handgun on my person. I simply notified the officer of the pistol and it's location, handed him my drivers license and permit. He called it in real quick to make sure I was good, and then let me go on my way. Respect goes a long way when dealing with the law.

I think if you are transporting any firearms, you'd better know the laws as you travel from state to state. In California, almost all of the gun laws regarding concealed weapons apply to handguns. Transporting a handgun should be in a locked case, UNLOADED. A trunk is a locked case. A glovebox is not. If you're talking about so called assault weapons, you better be careful or you're buying yourself a lot of trouble. Not my rules, just passing them on. Whatever someone tells you about legality of a particular gun, you better check the CA DOJ website and verify the info. Another great website is Calguns. They have tons of info about what is and is not legal. As stupid as our gun laws are, there are other states with worse. CA doesn't honor concealed carry permits from other states.

The problem has been created by black robed types appointed (not elected) to the U.S. Supreme Court. Not being elected they do not and can not legally, lawfully or constitutionally represent the private American citizens. However the private America citizens are forced via usurped powers into accepting their rulings on the constitution. Powers usurped are unconstitutional therefore those so engaged are not duly constituted to hold any office whatsoever.

The 14 Amendment addresses insurrection which I find a great percentage of private American citizens do not understand or even know how to identify insurrection against the Constitution of the United States of America and how to put it down.

Another problem I see in America the average individual has no idea whatsoever of the difference between a political act and a legislative act so lots of constructive conversation relating to legislative acts goes silent......................................JMHO!

DHS, TSA, and their cohorts have deployed portable scanning equipment designed for the expeditionary forces in combat zones to the streets of America you all had better know what this equipment looks like or you will be raked over the coals even jailed by BS gun restrictions and making some lawyers Benz payment too.

Don't know how much interest there would be, but could this possibly work for a class at Expo? Maybe the class could cover transportation issues specific to overlanding, conceal or open carry, national forest regulations regarding weapons, common misconceptions about weapons, etc.

I only had to admit to a concealed weapon once, mostly because I try to not get pulled over, but once I had a gun under a sweater on my backseat and was maybe driving a little fast, told the hp about it, he had me step out retrieved the gun, (.357 red hawk), his dad had been wanting one for some time, we exchanged numbers and he bought it from me the next day, after we went shooting at he police only shooting range. Now I live in wyoming, no concealed carry laws here.
