FJ fuse block locations

So where are people putting their fuse blocks? I want mine in the engine bay, but can't seem to find a suitable location that is near the battery. I originally had it on the factory fuse block and don't really like it there.
Thanks all,

Nick

BlueSea aux. box passenger footwell.
Easy to get to if I need to add a circuit to it.

Corey. Do you have to remove the floor threshold and side kick panel whenever you need to access the fuse box?

Thanks Corey, I will take a look at that thread. I'm still leaning toward an engine bay spot though. Just much easier for the accessories I have planned.

I have seen it done both ways.
So far just my ARB fridge via the dual 12v outlets and the CB are hooked to the box.

If I remember, you just need to remove the panel, and not mess with the threshold at all.
We had the latter off to hide the wiring underneath.

I have my cb wired to plug into my extra 12v point in the center console. I don't think bill ever step up to a fridge or anything of the sort. If anything, i will add another set of lights or on board air.

I know you said you didn't like on top of the factory fuse box.

I found it to be a perfect platform for mounting mine.

I left extra negative wire so I can move the top around if the need arises to gain access to the factory fuses.

Currently it only is wired for my fridge.
As I add accessories, all will be wired into the box.
My CB is wired into the inside fuse box and will remain there.

We had two, one on top of the fuse box as above and one in the drivers footwell like Corey. Never had a problem with either. If you want it in the engine just put it on the fuse box.

I put mine on the driver's side of the firewall, but is it a PITA to hook up anything to it. If I was doing it over again I would put it in the passenger kick panel like Corey.

Thanks for all the input and ideas. I will probably just leave it on the fuse box and get everything as cleaned up as possible. It is definitely the most convenient place for what I have planned.
