FJ60 Must-do Reliability Modifications?

The only issue I have ever had in my 25 years with the FJ60 is the manual choke cable. That thing has stuck / collapsed / god only knows what too many times to count. That being said, I've never been stranded.

X2 what 1911 was said with the plug. Other then that just say up on your maintenance and drive that sucker, 119k is nothing for a Cruiser. Don't worry about a desmog unless part that system fails on you, then maybe look in to it. For now just use you time and money on driving and enjoying.:sombrero:

Failures I can think of: Oil galley plug, tie-rod ends and more importantly drag-link ends (if excessively worn they can pop out of the joint), u-joints, transmission to t-case seal, seized bell-cranks, loose pinion bearings, worn cross-shaft in rear diff. More if I think deep but really all those are easy to spot and remedy. 60's are tanks!

Think most things have been touched on.. Only other thing I would look at would be to check all your ground connections and make sure they are nice and tight and possibly go through a brake job.

Good point about the grounds - thanks.
