Flip Pak Truck Shell/tent

I have a Flip Pak brand truck shell for sale. It fits full size Ford long bed trucks. Other trucks would require some modification to fit. The shell was built 1996. It is in good condition. The fold out tent is also in good condition. I do not have the brackets that attach the legs to the front hood area of the truck and one of the legs needs the plastic end replaced. Both items are available through the Flip Pak company. Asking $850 but don't be shy.
Thanks,
Troy

I was looking at this on Craigslist as another member on this forum posted a link - I fully intended on buying it and modifying it to fit my short bed SD. Scheduling issues between us prevented me from checking it out & buying it right away and in the meantime I found a Wildernest for my shortbed that I wouldnt need to modify to install. Troy called me today to see if I was still interested and since I found another setup I suggested he come on here and post it up because of the other members interested in these. Talking to Troy several times he sounds like a very stand up guy - hope somebody on here can grab this up and put it to good use!

Good idea sending Troy here, seems like folks here always looking for flippacs. Someone was here recently looking for a fullsize longbed version, maybe in the camper section? That's what I have so I was sorta paying attention. I seem to recall a ford truck, somewhere far north of here.

That is a great price on the flippac, and I like the older style windows. If you need help getting the missing pieces for the buyer I'd be willing to run down to FRP for you, it's not far. As we know, they're not terribly responsive.

Good luck with the sale.

Thanks for the offer for help. Selling it here will improve the chances of someone really using it for what it is intended for. I spoke to the FlipPak folks and they seemed helpful. I did not know they were not very responsive.

Sorry didn't mean to give the wrong impression of FRP. Once you connect they are very nice, and helpful. I had difficulties with the initial contact is all.

Anyhow good luck with the sale, someone's going to get a killer deal on this one.

The picture above is of a Dodge. Is this not the right picture. If its for a longbed Dodge then I would be interested since I have a Dodge.. Any more pictures?

This shell is designed for an 8 foot long bed. The picture shows it on a Dodge but I had to modify using 3/4 teflon spacers to raise the shell. Looks pretty slick huh? This allowed the actual dimesions of the bed rail to be changed to suit.
No other pictures of the shell on the truck. I have used it on a 1998 Ford, 2001 Ford, and this 2007 Dodge.

Tent

I have an older ford trailer that I plan on towing a flip out tent and all my camping gear in. Would this fit on a trailer that is 5x8. How large is it when it is folded out? sleeping space? leak? clean?

Just wanted to pass along a find - in case someone not local wants this, there is a website called uship.com - Its kind of an e-bay for shipping. You put up your item with measurements and estimated weight, then trucking companies and independant carriers bid for your shipment. I just got my Wildernest shipping from Durango CO to SoCal for $250. Check them out if you need something big shipped, and this is a great deal on a FlipPac!

I have a 5 X 8 trailer myself. It fits well but takes up the entire trailer. Like most shells the roof is a slightly smaller dimension than the base that fits to the truck bed rails. So figure on the tent folding out to the front as shown in the picture. You could probably double the square footage of a long truckbed. To use on a trailer you would probably need to mount backwards or mount high on the trailer to allow the fold out. I will try to fold out and measure if you need actual numbers. It's still here....

It is sitting on 6 foot tall saw horses now. I will try to take more photos and get them here tomorrow. For now I only have these two but neither are of the interior.
