FNG & Trailer

Hey! I have been lurking for a while and just now joined up. I came across expo while researching my trailer project. There is just not enough room in the fj to haul camping gear, K9 and the kids...... So with this craigslist find, the project started.

The trailer was in rough shape and honestly I have no idea how I towed it home, but for $100 it was mine.

I ordered a better axel with matching lugs, added fenders, and it was rolling again.

I put in a 20 gal (if I remember right) water tank and surflo pump.

The clam shell did not work out well when i added the rtt. The first trip out was a pain. So I rebuilt the box. And added a rear swinging door.

Thanks! My goal was to keep it as small as I could, and still be functional. Thinking the bigger I made trailer, the more stuff I would bring along that I didnt really need. I have made a few small changes to it. I'll get some more pix up once we thaw out some.

Cleaver use of space on this built Radio Jumper.

The remote control spot on the back of the Toyota is a nice touch.
I had one like that on my work truck and it acame in real handy at night when working and needing to move the light position while up on a pole working the power lines.

The sink no doubt will be copied by many. I know I will on my current trailer build.

I especially like the plywood platform dividers that give you more opinons on storge and access.
NOt to mention some fold down legs and they would make some nice tables.

An interesting use of an old trailer.

I give it two thumbs up!

@all - thanks!

@ Curtis in Texas - The stryker light is hella bright. Use to have one my van when I worked for the phone company. was nice to be able to move the light while up in the bucket. I am thinking about replacing the KC lights with 2 more.

I didnt think about making the dividers removable, they would make good tables. I'm going to look into that.

@jbaggy - it made a good starting point, but at the time I didnt realize that I would be replacing pretty much everything.

@xkid - I need to swap out the trailer's Pireli's and get matching BGF's. Im keeping a lookout for some used ones in good shape. I need to get the trailer wheels powder coated black too.
