We have a memory foam mattress in our RV and do most of our camping in the winter and ours is warm and comfortable. No matter how cold, mid single digits, no problem being hard and the warmth is nice.
In the summer, we don't find the foam too warm either. Maybe different manufacturers makes a difference?
I use an old memory foam topper when winter camping without the RV. It insulates and I sleep like a baby.
