These Alpacka Pack Rafts look like a fun item one could "pack" along for some water fun, and with the largest model less then 5 pounds, it's light to boot. Check it out......http://www.foldingkayak.com/index.html
I've paddled a feathercraft before, and was amazed at the rigidity you can get out of a boat that fits in a backpack. The one that I paddled belonged to a friend that used to work for the UN and had hauled this kayak all over the world and used them extensively for over 6 years and they were still in great shape.
I've put in a lot of miles in Feathercraft and Klepper sea kayaks, but I've never even seen those rafts. They do look like fun, and amazingly light (the sea kayaks are 60 pounds and more). Of course, you can do stuff in the kayak you never could in the raft, but for pottering around a slow river or lake the raft would be handy.
