FOR SALE: 2010/2023 GXV Global Traveller Mercedes 1017A 4x4 Expedition Truck PRICE: US$295,000

Although your refit appears modern and well done, I do not think it's fair for buyers to suggest that this habitat was built in 2023. The actual habitat is from 2010 and the vehicle itself was built in 1989. There can be differences between chronological age and the condition of the vehicle after an extensive refit, but in the end, I would think these details would matter to a buyer. It would certainly matter to me, as a seller, to make offloading something like this as easy as possible for myself. In the boating world, it is routine for ships to undergo extensive updates and become completely modern vessels. However, that does not change their date of manufacture.

Hi Andy, thanks for your reply!

That's all true, but I don't think I've misrepresented any of the dates? Chassis from 1989 (the very last year that the 1017A was made); the box and bathroom wall is all that's left from the original build when the chassis was imported in 2010 and is the year on all the US paperwork; and then a complete internal tear out and rebuild over 2022 and 2023 as stated in this thread.

I don't think you're necessarily misrepresenting, but the title of the thread and all of the details (which are super helpful) do not clarify the year of manufacturer for the box or the chassis. All that is highlighted in the thread are the dates of the refit. At the end of the day, it is up to the buyer to do their due diligence, of course.

The detail he presented is very clear and concise. It’s one of the best representations and detailed sales postings I recall. I think you are picking about something clearly posted….for absolutely no reason. Been best to reach out to him personally first if so inclined

Thanks for the bump @Jack Mac!

Sorry, I missed your question earlier @DTAdventure, I didn't get an email notification for some reason (I'll have to check my settings on this thread!). The habitat box itself is 16'x8'x8' exterior dimensions, or 15'6" long by 7'6" wide by 6'8" headroom interior. Some height is lost due to the electrical, plumbing and water all being inside the box for true 4 season capability. The mattress is a residential queen east to west with additional shelf space at the head and foot of the bed area to put a drink, or charge your phone etc.

Still available for viewing in Colorado, and I'm open to (sensible!) negotiation. Or potentially working out a deal involving exchange for a smaller weekend camping setup on an American class 5 or smaller vehicle...
