I took some more detailed pics and started to compile a list of all the goodies I will throw in with the rig...
It it looking like I have someone lined up to put a deposit on this world travel ready bad boy, and best of all it is someone already in the cruiser/expo/mud family! Yippie the build & travels will continue.
Drivers door has this 1cm long crack in it..hasn't bothered me and at some point I figured I would pull the door to repaint and have someone weld it up.
Another spot of rust..nothing on the outside to match up to this and since it is hidden behind the rear view mirror I forgot about it.
Last of the ugly rust..this is part of the drivers (right) side lower fender. I have a quote coming to on a used replacement lower fender to I haven't worried about this, but it ins't large so someone could have a patch welded in.
The factory snorkle has a crack in it, the previous owner used some silicon and that is all I planned to to at some point, but I also have a quote coming on this part
The drivers side rear leaf spring has a cracked leaf, it is one of the lower support ones and I planned at some point to have a local spring shop make me a new one. No quotes on that. Who ever gets this can either upgrade the entire suspension (I wouldn't) or I can see about getting this fixed before it goes, at the new owners expense. I might have fixed this someday down the road, just not sure when
This gives an idea of all much stuff packs into the smaller storage space. Tools, recovery gear & parts. I will include the Hi-lift as it sits on the front bumper and here and goes well with the rig.
This is more storage space, alot more fits in here. And you can see where I put the group 31 Diehard/Odyssey battery. If I were to keep the rig I would rebuild the other storage box to equal height and more the battery over to that side so as to even out some weight. Also I would more the aux fuse box from behind the fridge to the other side...just saying you always get better ideas AFTER you build something.
I have all the original bits of the interior which are rough and all the replacement custom panels with access to the interwall storage space. I also have the original seats but you would be nuts to put those in.
I have a bunch of new & spare parts to throw in...
New doors seals all around
New water pump
New tie rod on the left side...it needs it.
New Toyota Oil Filter
New Toyota Washable Air Filter (already has a new one in the rig also)...this way you can swap and wash at leisure.
New belts
New brake pads & rebuild kits for the front & rear
New starter already installed and kept the old one (just needs new contacts I found out)
Original Toyota snorkle top & a smaller Donaldson...I think the larger flows more air myself
New CB Radio Uniden 510
Used Yaesu 2m/44ocm Ham Radio...works great just needs to be installed
New Remote speaker for the Ham or CB so the two voices are next to each other
A ton of carpet to finish out the interior
A bunch of left over headliner in case you ever mess up what is there
The Toyota EPC CD so you can look at the factory exploded parts diagram and look up numbers even in the middle on nowhere in case you need parts....also good for figuring out what other vehicles that part was on so you can tell the dweeb behind the counter.
I am sure there is more I will throw at the new owner, as I tend to go crazy ordering parts but not always getting them installed right away. I also like to carry spares and save decent bits that I take off in case of problems down the road.
I have gotten some good info on swapping in an auto trans..which is great as the cost of the electric clutch setups are enough for me to buy another decent 4wd to play with.
But really this engine/trans combo is so sweet I hate to break up an iconic rig and think someone else will really enjoy owning this.
