Hey All,

Decided to sell my SPOT. Its the first generation SPOT. I have also have 6 months of service left.

Gonna call SPOT tomorrow and see if I can transfer service or not.

Let us know, a guy in one of the local clubs has one for sale with transferable service for $40. He's also including an upgraded account to view real time location of the unit (not sure if that costs more or anything)

I might be interested for the right price...

Ya, I def. won't sell it for $40 with the service (if it's transferable). I need to recoup some of the money for the remainder of the 6 months of service.

Ok here is the deal. Axeangel...read this before you buy your club members SPOT.

Straight from SPOT Customer Service.

- You cannot transfer service to anyone in their name. He said that sometimes people will sell their SPOT with the remainder of subscription to a third party but that account will always be in the original parties name.

- He said people often call in who bought a SPOT from a friend thinking they can transfer the account and service to their name...they cannot.

- Also you cannot transfer SAR insurance to a third party. If another person (if I sell it to you) is in possession of the unit and presses the rescue button they will not be covered. The insurance covers up to $100,000. However as the third party you may not use this to cover you.

- If I do sell it with service (save for 911 insurance coverage) the account will always be in my name. Coverage auto renews so I would have to call in on the day it expires and tell them to cancel the coverage.

Ha...you bet. No job...sucks big time. I figure I can sell everything but my car, tent, stove, and ice chest.

Know any girls around my age that are as poor as I am? Could be a match! Each date would be a hike or a trip to Costco on "free sample day" for dinner. :smiley_drive:
