Hey thanks alot for everything Terry. :sombrero: I realized as we were leaving that I didn't even get to show you the van but it wouldn't have been much fun in the downpour. Next time...

Tron was really entertaining...

Well guys, I'm in a nice little resort in La Paz called Club El Moro and wanted to report that I am very pleased with the performance of the van on her first trip into Baja. We drove almost 50 miles on a Type III road to Mission San Borja then back to Hwy 1 and with the tire pressure down, it was very smooth. I couldn't have been happier. On the hwy, she tracks straight and true.

I'm having an issue with the inverter that I can't figure out. I keep getting a fault code and it shuts itself off after an hour or so of the van running. When it's not running, everything is fine and it's powering everything normally. I've tested it when the engine is running and no matter whether anything is plugged in or not, I get the fault code and it shuts off. In the manual, the code (looks like OST) simple says "AC" but it shows a steady 120.

Any ideas?

Okay, just confirmed via the manufacturer website that the code I'm getting is: AC Overload or Shortage

Why would I get this only when the alternator is charging? Am I missing the obvious?

If its wired direct to the battery then the alternator might be spiking and causing the overcharge fault. If the internal regulator is bad if could be overcharging as well. When the vehicle is off the battery is stabilized voltage that wont spike & trip the fault

No Terry, it's going thru a bank of three batteries.

that's still effectively connected directly to the alternator.

Correct - the alternator is directly connected to & charging the batteries while the vehicle is running and the unit, if wired through the battery bank, will sense any spikes or overcharging due to fluctuations or problems with the alternators internal voltage regulator triggering the fault in the inverters voltage sensor
