Rockrawler,
I almost went dually with my build but the two major things that made me go single was one the width here in the mountains of colorado would have me hanging tires off of 1000+ foot cliffs and wheeling in the midwest i would constantly either be turning around due to the trail width or spend all of my days collecting fire wood by cutting down trees to get my van through. And the last probably most important reason is rocks wedge between the duallys can blow out both tires in less than a mile, if you are lucky enough to catch the rock cought in the dually's you have to extract it out right then and there which could mean jacking it up and pulling the tire off, or some creative jacking/winching/prying to get it out. This why all of the fuso rvs go to singles instead of duals. Sidewall gashes are not fixable and blowing out two tires at a time can get expensive in a hurry. Of course it all falls back on how you and where you plan to use your rig, I just figured i would give you some food for thought. I thought i would use mine more for hauling but as it turns out I use it more for wheeling so I was glad with my choice.
