Specific questions:
What is the axle ratio?

Are lockers in diffs available? (Detroit rear, ARB front?)
What is cost premium?

Very nice truck!

I'm not a ford guy but that truck looks awesome and I love the stance. I hope to have that same stance with 39.5-41" tires on my 2nd gen dodge. I want to see more pics and keep up the good work!!

Haven, The gears are planetary: 7:42 final ratio. the truck only has a 2" lift with 44" tires and no lift with 42" tires...

Thanks, Liventre, for bringing this to our attention.

The person to contact at Grand Prairie Ford is Dann Munro (email DMunro@vtaig.com). I sent email to Dann inviting him to join the ExPo forums.

There's an ad on eBay advertising an F554 conversion. Price $96,800. The ad says that Grand Prairie Ford has built 27 of the F554 models.

Its available now and Dan is taking orders for them as we speak...

Wow what an awesome truck. I love it even tho h1 is a totally strange looking and deferent design. But this ford is just sweet. Is it out yet? Or another awesome idea by American car makers that will never be in America or will never be the reality?

Charlie, we are working with Anchorage Ford to get these available to you too.

F650 Discs all around, 16" tall! F550 calipers 2 in the rear, 4 in the front.

Suspension: can be upgraded to HD springs and or you can order your own air system, otherwise the trucks you see only have HD swaybars.

Lockers: Dana 80 35 spline front and Dana 130 rear, take your pick of lockers.

Price? Email Dann Munro for exact pricing on all the options you do and dont want.

The F554's front bumper is so high off the ground that some states might not approve it for on-highway use.

(Editorial comment: The bulging codpiece of a hood and grille that USA truck manufacturers feel they have to have on their trucks, combined with the tires and body lift, would make it very difficult to see the trail less than 40 feet in front of the truck. Some sort of terrain camera setup should be mandatory for a truck like this.)

...I have to agree heartily with haven vis visibility in off-roading/trail driving scenarios, and the bumper vis on-highway use approval in various States.

This truck would have, IMO, very limited utility on many, many trails and tracks, limiting your route choices:

a) truck width and forward/side visibility would make it nary impossible to navigate on the vast majority of off-roading/forest road/non tracked routes I have been on with smaller cab/chassis work-designed pick-ups (there are exceptions, of course, however, why limit your options?);

b) ability to maneuver out of a sticky off-road situation greatly increases as you increase the width/height/length/weight of your overland vehicle;

*another consideration is: the ease of changing a wheel while offroading

Concluding: like any truck considered for offroad use, think very carefully about the trail and access issues before you consider any offroad vehicle, or one could be in for an in-route nasty surprise. We get around this by having several offroading platforms: a Tracker/Suzuki platform for potentially narrow routes, and a full-sized chassis cab pickup with pop-up truck camper for wider routes...

You can't compare a truck like this with your average F250 or Land Cruiser etc etc. It is more along the lines of what you would mount a Unicat style "camper" on. You would not take a Unicat across the Rubicon, but drive it to Patagonia and take the espresso machine along!

And the barista to make the espresso too.:elkgrin:
