^agreed that is one likeable SD! Especially b/c it's white! :) I've spied that spindle setup for some time. How much time on it so far and able to give feedback? Btw, I come to Ukiah and Mendocino on occasion.

Cool Ukiah is a great small town I was born and raised there.
I have had it for 2 years so far and have had zero problems with it, no play in the arm and no stress cracks in the welds anywhere. We did not weld directly on the spindle where it slides down into the bumper. Instead to avoid making the spindle brittle, we plug welded the spindle into a sleeve then welded the sleeve into the bumper. The angle of the latch really is what helps the spindle survive, it has delrin pads for the arm to sit on and the latch is set at a 45 degree angle to allow locking the gate in with back and down forces at the same time.
used comp4x4.com heavy duty 1 3/4" spindle
I would like to add a bracket to hold my mountain bike alongside the spare.
here is the photobucket for those interested might give you all some ideas for your own projects.

Thanks this is an awesome site, im glad i found it! I love all the project rig being built

Not to be critical, but just from the perspective of personal taste, I would want slightly larger diameter tires, and slightly smaller diameter wheels. Love it all the same!

Sharp. I sometimes wish I had a regular cab. The tighter turns would come in handy off road. Is that an aftermarket rear bumper or a home made one? I like it. I want my spare on the rear like that.
I love the regular cab but sometimes wish I had a crew or extended cab for more space, I was thinking about trying to trade for one or buy one for a while but trying to find a 7.3l with low miles at a decent price is getting really hard!
But kids aren't going to happen for a while so its still big enough for my wife and I, the camper helps alot with space too and it drops my registration from 300 to 78$ here in the lovely state of california.

Just don't take that she'll off! I did the same thing a couple years ago. Then I had to take it off to move. I got a ticket for not having commercial plates on it. With out the shell,it's not a recreational vehicle anymore!!

That sucks, I dont plan on taking it off. I would like to move to Idaho after I graduate have land and family up there already. But I still like some things about northern cali
im turning the back into a better camping setup so I will only be able to haul what fits in the back with the shell on

Thanks guys! Im extremely happy and stoked for this truck! I have lots of plans, long term plans for her. Right now, i am just going to use her as she is and take notes of what i like/would like to change. I have never heard or seen of one of these before, but it is called a Ford Creger. I was lucky enough to find it on craigslist basically in my back yard =) Here are more pictures

I will most likely update the interior next spring, and i have already started saving for a 12v Cummins Swap =D

No way. I'd leave it gas! And spend some money painting her. Black and/or white paint, some fresh carpet, maybe gears and lockers if needed. Perfect truck!

Nice! The 400m isn't exactly a power monster, and the ones I've owned have sucked down the fuel. Putting a 12v in there is a great way to improve that rig. Lots of Dynamat or equivalent will be a good thing.
