Ford SOHC 4.0 V6 engine RE: Timing Shenanigans

After seeing that setup, I can now honestly say I feel good about the timing chain / VCT setup on my '04 F150 5.4L 3V!

Yeah funky engineering, but if it works, whatever...

since the engine is out, might as well do bearings, rings etc... No sense in stabbing it back with a worn long block assembly.
 
Motor is already back together and ready to drop back in.

Compression check, leakdown test, and oil pressure at hot idle show its in great health, minus the timing gear.
No need to spend un-needed coin. At this rate, I see no reason this motor wont last 400k.
