Forward Control Jeep (FC)-Scott Brady's Test Drive- A Great Read!!

...What I also thinks kills it is having to climb over the tire and fender to get in the truck. It doesn't seem like they took this into account when designing it....

It looks like the front fender (mudguard) is cut away at the rear, which indicates that it is attached to the doors and opens with it, which still leaves climbing on, and over, a muddy, wet tyre...

I too enjoyed Scott's write up... I just wish he hadn't of written that Jeep will NEVER build this...

I think this is the BEST looking Jeep I've ever seen! Period.

Great write up Scott! The FC Crew Cab would be very cool! I would buy that with out the portal axles even.:drool:

It's basically mid-engined....that is why the bed is kinda funky. I don't know how far back the engine is from the stock JK position, but it looks like a bit. It might just be an optical illusion with the forward cab and the fact that the stock JK has a lot of frame in the nose.....

And to add a little Jeep Porn and Lust to the read- I was able to find both of these on an indepth search!

The Crew Cab and the Utility Van or Bus:

I would not have to look for a truck with the sadness I am having to do now! If they made this I would get MY first jeep and second ever in the family in a heart beat! I know jeep is doing like jeep always does and making something awesome only to say screw you we aint making it!

It's easy to say that... but what do you think the price tag would be?

I think as it sits it must be $65k ++
I suppose if they toned it down to regular JK Axles, 35s etc it could come in around $40k.

True but would this not be the top of the line model?! If so I would by the base and build to my specs! Like most jeepers do! For a long time there was not a rubicon and everyone built their jeep to do the rubicon and made them all theirs, Then there was and everyone had the same thing as everyone else! No I would not buy the rubicon FC Id by the FC Sahara ect rather base but capable and build from there!

I have no need for rock crawling as I dont want to. Im more of a trail swamp man! Florida southern GA. (when I move back home) so high water and swampy areas. I dont need a rubicon FC for that!

I get you point but as that sits it would be top market so top price. Im speaking more on base model just being able to buy it like a standard jeep!

Maybe not a Rubicon trim, but the portal axles would help you out!

Portals are cool but if you break down somewhere you can't just go to the nearest Autozone and get replacement parts. Same thing goes for jet packs, if there wasn't a risk of people falling out of the sky randomly then there would be more of them.

The sad part is that no one will ever "own" this vehicle. After a few years of making the jeep, 4wd, and truck circuit they will send it to the crusher for insurance purposes!
