Passed it this morning as I was running around doing errands. It's a 1999 with 85k miles and the 24 valve cummins. 5 speed transmission, 10k lb warn winch, tonneau cover and B&W ball. They are asking 14,900 but this truck looks like it did when it was new. It was in front of a residence

I bring this up because I will be in the same area tomorrow and I can get the number and some pictures if anybody is interested

RT (or anyone) looking at that GEN Cummins... A few points. Ball joints are notoriously weak and wear often. Lift pump likes to go and eats the P pump. NV4500 likes to toss 5th gear out the window with no warning (ask me about this one! :( ) and there are a plethora of other well documented issues. Always have the vehicle inspected prior to buying unless its a screaming deal and you know what your potentially in for. Not being anyone's "Momma"... just passing on what I've learned the hard and expensive way. My 99 is currently in storage needing much of what I listed. :( But I only paid 6500 bucks for it so who knows.

It's still a great truck for the money. These problems are well documented with the these trucks.

PM's returned and I left a message and hope to go and take a closer look and test drive ASAP. Who knows, maybe I'll buy this one and sell my regular cab 4x4 with the 12 valve. Normally would never consider selling my 12 valve but the extra room would be a huge plus with us having our first child

THx JD, I am aware of most of the issues, but really missing my M1028 and need a truck nearly daily, and the trailer deal is old already...

Instead is sending out more PM's I will just let y'all know that I am going to look at it and drive it tomorrow. I'll have my camera with me to get pics as well.

I was wrong about the mileage, it has 82,509 on the odometer and apparently his records are meticulous and everytime the truck has been worked on in any capacity it's been logged.

It has some sort of sliding bed tray as well which sounds cool

If anybody wants to chat with me tonight to find out anything specific then call me at (nine seven zero) 227-forty two twenty two

Do they really sell for that much up there???

Someone with some time on their hands could start importing them and make a few bucks . . .

I gotcha! It's just hard to find a truck anywhere that is as clean as this truck appears to be. It's got 5,000 dollars or so of "add-ons"

Speaking of that, what would you guys thing is for for aftermarket equipment? How much value does aftermarket equipment retain on a vehicle. Is there a set formula or is it dependent on the age of the aftermarket accessory?

Got a bunch of pictures today. Truck is damn clean and tracks straight on the hwy. I'm waiting to see if it's a 53 block now. I looked and looked and didn't see 53 stamped on it anywhere but want to be sure. I'll post pics when I get home.

Everyone has their take on it - but in general, regardless of which side of the sale I'm on (buying or selling), I assume aftermarket parts, or recently installed OEM big-ticket items, to be valued at about 10% of the material cost (no labor). In other words, the $5,000 transmission overhaul/upgrade that the previous owner put in the last Dodge I bought, was worth $500 when I was buying it. The $4,000 worth of suspension (tires, driveshafts, springs, shocks, control arms, etc) that I put under my Jeep added $400 to the price when I sold it.

Ultimately, the 'fair' price is what ever the buyer is willing to pay.
