I've often thought it would be fun to run something like a FWD Escape or Vue or CR-V. Simple and cheap. Plus as near as I can tell, every Escape or Vue I've seen with a manual transmission is FWD - I don't think I've ever seen an AWD with a manual.

My Escape was AWD with a 5 speed.

On a side note work rented me a 2017 Escape the other day, I drove it all day and just under 600 miles. It's a pathetic excuse of a vehicle, I hated it. It is nothing like the earlier generations.

escape guys....It would be worth your while to install Monroe OE spectrum shocks and struts with the H&R springs. I have used monroes on my JKU, Suburban and F150 all with AWESOME results. I am currently getting ready to install them on my patriot too. The OE spectrum are re name sensi trac twin tube shocks. They ride awesome...handle bumps etc better and are just overall a better shock for what we do. Just a heads up. If you can find the OME springs somewhere, I would go with them...but H&Rs are awesome....I used them on my Honda civic and my VW Passat.
