Four Days in Death Valley

Great pics and stories. I was out there during the same time frame but headed up to Eureka Dunes from Furnace Creek. I already want to get back out there before the temps get too high.

Word of advice, if you drive to The Racetrack from the Ubehebe side (from the east) stop at the second parking area (southern parking area). It's worth the 1/2 mile hike to get toward the back (southeast end of the playa) where the mountain side and dry lake bed meets. That's where you will find many mysterious rocks. The north end of the playa is almost devoid of the moving rocks.

just got back from a couple days there. Wish I had seen this before I walked all over the dry lake bed looking for non existent rocks! Great trip otherwise though!

DV attracts such an eclectic crowd. I get a charge out of watching the "normal" tourists watch the backcountry crowd when they encounter them.

Not too many places to you get such a wonderful mix of people.

Welp, my "Four Days in Death Valley" just became "Seven Days in Death Valley in April".

I ended up going back for Death Valley Part Deuce. I was a passenger/tour guide for some of my friends. So I got to go back and get Eureka Dunes, Steele Pass, Saline Valley, and Lippencott covered.

It was an awesome trip! Beautiful scenery and great weather, it couldn’t have been any better. Except for those brutal washboards haha
