Fred the Van. The More We Explore's Adventure Van Build Thread

Thanks Chris. I'm really excited for the next few episodes once I get my hands dirty. Great idea for the steering stops should I need it, it'll keep my wife from tearing up the tires.

I found this really cool website. Best wheel website I've found yet. It allows you to search by size, offset, bolt pattern, etc.

Hey Chris, while I've got you here, what are the torque specs on your steering arm?

Only rubbed a little. Most likely due to Toyo's being true to size and the MT's having aggressive side lugs. I doubt Coopers or BFG's will rub at 4.5" BS. Certainly not enough to do any damage.

I just went through finding a rim and tire combo
I'm going to try 17x9 -12 offset I was looking for s bit more neg offset to insure no rubbing on control arms.
35 12.5 r17 BFGs
We will see tomorrow.

I can't say I remember seeing but a teeny weeny bit. No concern IMHO.

Nice van Steve!
My first q-van was that color
I think if you are going to be towing so much 35's are the way to go.

I know wheels are very personal taste, I really like the look of deeper dish, especially on a large van. I think it makes it look sturdier. I like the last 2 the best, Im a sucker for plain 5/6 spoke though. Van is coming along great steve, keep it up. Im excited to see how it turns out.
