Any idea how long a Ford front hub bearing unit will last with normal use??? It is in a 2003 E350 w/7.3 power stroke Quigley van Dana 60. Anbody have any idea they do a bearing unit instead of the old way? It is about 1000.00 in parts ******!!!!!!

Under normal use, you should see at least 100K from a unit bearing. Depending on the brand, the replacement price should be $3-400 each.

I would say 100k if you are running stock tires and not wheeling it or towing alot with it. If you are 50 to 60 k is about all you will get out of them. You can by a kit to run conventional bearings in that axle it runs about a grand but worth it if you ask me.

Who makes the kit? What are the signs when they do start to go bad? Do you have some warning ? If so how many miles approximately? The unit bearing has got to be one of Fords lamest ideas. And I do know there are lots of manufacturers that use them in cars. But in a 4x4 ******!!!
