finally got round to replacing bushes with polyurethane and pins with greasable. Had the parts for a couple of years. Rear hangers about 30 minutes each side. A bit of bother getting front pins aligned as I did one side at a time. But got there with two jacks. A couple of hours each side. I'd previously replaced springs which I did both sides at the same time but no longer have the high axle stands.
to move the springs far enough I had to release the shock absorbers.
so I adjusted the (Koni) shocks at the same time as they felt a bit soft (after some hard work). Nicely surprised how much difference a small adjustment makes.
end result:-
the new bushes got rid of the clunks
the greasable pins got rid of the squeaks
the shock adjustment got rid of some of the pitching
the old rubber bushes at the rear were very dead. front bushes still usable
